Tuesday (10/26) on the Los Angeles Times blog Culture Monster, David Ng reports, “Ticket prices at the Hollywood Bowl are going to be slightly more expensive in the coming season. That’s because the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has approved a measure to raise certain prices at the popular summer venue by $1 to $3 per ticket. The measure, which was requested by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Assn., which manages the venue, is expected to raise an additional $27,000 for the Hollywood Bowl Improvement Fund from the previous year, according to documents provided by county officials. The money will be used for capital expenditures, equipment and services and supplies at the Bowl. The new prices are scheduled to go into effect for the 2011 Bowl season. … The L.A. Philharmonic said that it will maintain the tradition of offering $1 seats for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday performances in the top 380 bench seats of the Bowl. It also said that 40% of all Bowl tickets will be offered at $26 or less. A spokeswoman for the L.A. Philharmonic said that the price increases are in line with increases in previous seasons.”
