Following Sunday’s announcement that Detroit Symphony Orchestra musicians and management had reached a tentative contract agreement, the orchestra reports that musicians will resume rehearsals this Thursday in preparation for two free concerts this weekend. Details of the tentative agreement have not yet been released; a vote from musicians will take place later this week to formally ratify the agreement. Music Director Leonard Slatkin will lead the concerts on April 9 and 10, which will include Dvorák’s Symphony No. 9 (“From the New World”) and other classical favorites. “As we return to our home,” said Leonard Slatkin, “I’m confident that the artistic product will continue at the highest possible level.
