In Saturday’s (4/30) Democrat and Chronicle (Rochester, New York), Anna Reguero writes, “The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra’s music director designate Arild Remmereit wants you to help him program his Symphony 101 concerts for next year. A favorite under current Music Director Christopher Seaman, the details released for next year’s 101 series includes an online voting system where audiences get to pick one piece performed at each of the concerts. ‘I wanted to introduce some new elements that focus on audience engagement,’ Remmereit said. Remmereit’s programming represents an extension of themes in the Philharmonics Series, which include works by women composers, Strauss and the Viennese waltz, Latin American and Russian music and ending with Beethoven and his contemporaries. … Series subscriptions are $110—early subscribers will be the first to vote on works for the series.”
