At the Winston-Salem (N.C.) Symphony, MATTHEW TROY has been promoted from assistant conductor to associate conductor. He continues to serve as education director of the orchestra and as music director of its Youth Symphony. Troy is also education conductor of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and a faculty member at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where he teaches conducting. Previous posts include conductor of North Carolina’s Fibonacci Chamber Orchestra, Wake Forest University Orchestra, and Salisbury Youth Orchestra, and as assistant conductor of the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro Symphony Orchestra. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music and a master’s degree in orchestral conducting from UNCG.
