Friday’s (4/17) Nashville Business Journal reports, “The Nashville Opera will unveil its new $6 million headquarters with an April 30 ribbon-cutting. The 26,000-square-foot Noah Liff Opera Center includes office, studio and warehouse spaces, as well as large community spaces for special events. Designed by Earl Swensson Associates, the building was renovated from an empty Sylvan Park warehouse at 3630 Redmon Drive . The center, which was designed to be versatile, comes with features such as an open studio and a removable wall. The opera plans to rent the facility when it’s not in use to other organizations for events and performances. Funding for the purchase of the center’s site was secured with a lead gift of about $500,000 from Nashville philanthropist Judy Liff Barker and her husband, developer Joe Barker.” Funding also came from a three-year, $12 million capital campaign, the company’s first ever.
