In Wednesday’s (2/1) Patriot-News (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania), David N. Dunkle writes, “Maestro Stuart Malina, in his 12th season as music director of Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, will receive Lebanon Valley College’s Founders Day Award later this month during convocation ceremonies on the Annville campus. The annual award, one of the highest commendations given by the college, honors an individual whose character and leadership contributes to the enhancement of life in central Pennsylvania. Last year’s award went to Gov. Tom Corbett. … Malina, who received a Tony Award in 2003 for his orchestration work on the Billy Joel musical ‘Movin’ Out,’ said he was particularly pleased to be honored by Lebanon Valley College. ‘They have one of the best music education programs in the state, and possibly in the country,’ he said.”
