The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra in Tennessee announced that it has doubled the number of concerts in its new Concertmaster Series during the 2012-13 season, from three to six. After tickets to three hourlong Thursday chamber-music concerts at Remedy Coffee in Knoxville’s Old City neighborhood sold out, the orchestra added three extra Wednesday performances. The series is programmed by and features the KSO’s recently appointed concertmaster, Gabriel Lefkowitz , who will now preside over concerts on October 3 and 4, January 16 and 17, and March 13 and 14. The venue has limited seating, and ticketholders receive complimentary coffee and dessert and the opportunity to mingle with the performers after each concert. Joining Lefkowitz for the concerts will be KSO colleagues Gordon Tsai and Edward Pulgar (violin), Kathryn Gawne and Eunsoon Lee-Corlis (viola), Andy Bryenton and Ihsan Kartal (cello), and Kevin Class (piano).
