A report in Friday’s (10/5) Tampa Bay Business Journal states, “A $200,000 grant to the Florida Orchestra from Progress Energy Foundation will provide underwriting support for the second phase of the orchestra’s audience development and community accessibility initiative. The initiative, which began in the 2011-2012 season, is designed to increase the orchestra’s visibility and encourage broader community participation through lower ticket prices, new programming and packaging and artistic initiatives, a statement said. The Florida Orchestra performs roughly 100 concerts a year in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater.”
