Thursday (10/11) on the music news site Taste of Country, Sterling Whitaker reports, “Country’s transplant superstar Keith Urban will receive the 2012 Harmony Award at the upcoming 28th annual Symphony Ball in Nashville. The award is bestowed each year to ‘an individual who exemplifies the harmonious spirit of Nashville’s thriving music community.’ Event co-chairs Mrs. Ansel Lewis Davis (Jana) and Mrs. Orrin Henry Ingram II (Lee Ann) announced the news Wednesday evening (Oct. 10). Urban’s career achievements include hit singles, platinum albums and sold-out world tours, but it is his focus on giving back to the local Nashville community that earned him the Harmony Award. … ‘Music City is home to so many talented people who live and work here, and Keith Urban has been such a vital force in this community. What he brings to Nashville, his passion for music, his presence at Symphony concerts and his involvement in this community, is precisely what the Harmony Award symbolizes,’ Nashville Symphony CEO and President Alan Valentine said in a press release. … Urban is scheduled to accept the award in person at the Symphony Ball on Saturday, December 8, at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center.”
