The American Music Abroad program—an international exchange program that uses music to engage under-served audiences—is now accepting applications for American musicians for the 2013-14 season. The deadline to apply is January 18, 2013 at 5 p.m. EST. The program is operated through the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and the nonprofit Association of American Voices; musicians from a variety of musical genres go on month-long, multi-country tours where they perform with local musicians and participate in lecture-demonstrations, workshops, and jam sessions. For more information or to apply, e-mail Susan Pittman eca-press@state.gov or visit americanvoices.org/ama or exchanges.state.gov/cultural/ama.html.
