At the Fort Worth (Tex.) Symphony Orchestra, Andrés Franco has been promoted from associate conductor to resident conductor, effective in fall 2013. He has also been named artistic director of the orchestra’s Concerts in the Garden beginning with this summer’s festival. Franco, a native of Colombia with a master’s degree in piano performance and conducting from Texas Christian University, is also principal conductor of Caminos del Inka, a project founded by Fort Worth Symphony Music Director Miguel Harth-Bedoya dedicated to discovering, preserving, expanding, and disseminating music of the Americas.
