The Boston Pops is in the midst of its 2013 season, which opened on May 8 at Symphony Hall with Pops Conductor Keith Lockhart leading songs with singer-songwriter Vince Gill, plus music from the films Gone With the Wind, The Little Mermaid, and E.T. Among the Pops’ other nine programs through June 15 are “Music From the Mad Men Era,” with vocalist Steve Lippia; a gospel-themed program, featuring the Boston Pops Gospel Choir led by Charles Floyd; “Pixar in Concert,” scores from thirteen Pixar feature films, led by BSO Germeshausen Youth and Family Concert conductor Thomas Wilkins; Boston Pops Laureate Conductor John Williams conducting an evening of his film music from Star Wars, Jaws, the Harry Potter series, and Lincoln; and “A Country Salute to Our Troops,” featuring the Tanglewood Festival Chorus and singer-songwriters Brett James and Hillary Lindsey in “Coming Home” from the film Country Strong and “There’s a Place For Us” from the Narnia series, among other selections. New in 2013, the Boston Pops made its BSO College Card program—admitting college students with the $25 card to Boston Symphony concerts—valid for most Pops concerts as well.
