New England Conservatory is accepting applications for the 2010-11 class of its one-year postgraduate Abreu Fellows Program, the program launched in 2009 to train young professional musicians to create American versions of El Sistema, the Venezuelan music-education program founded in 1976 by José Antonio Abreu. The application deadline for the 2010-11 program is April 1. Ten Fellows will be accepted into the program, which begins in Boston in October and is followed by a two-month period of applied study in Venezuela and a three-week guided internship at a select program in the United States.
