Tuesday (11/2) on the news site Adelaide Now (Australia), Patrick McDonald reports, “Adelaide Symphony Orchestra musicians have rejected the board’s offer of a one-off, $2,000 bonus on top of a proposed three per cent indexed pay rise. Symphony Orchestra Musicians Association state president Lachlan Bramble said the bonus made no progress on its objective of reaching 90 per cent of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s pay rates within three years. Players will pause their industrial action, which has included wearing non-standard attire and delaying the start of performances, while negotiations continue. ‘If, however, no progress is made in the further discussions with the company, the orchestra will resume its industrial campaign,’ Mr. Bramble said.”
