Astral Artists, the non-profit organization that works to support the discovery and development of gifted young classical musicians, has appointed Heather S. Giampapa as director of development. Giampapa began her career in non-profit fundraising as director of operations for the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation in New York City. She later served three years as manager of the Patron and Young Associates Programs for the Metropolitan Opera. Prior to joining Astral, Giampapa worked in Pennsylvania for the Bucks County Historical Society, as director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations at Salus University, and as director of Annual Giving and Special Events at Liberty Lutheran Services. A native of Bucks County, Giampapa earned degrees in English and history from Muhlenberg College, and holds a master of arts degree in modern British history from the University of Richmond. The 2012-13 season marks Astral Artists’ twentieth anniversary.
