The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra has appointed MARY McFADDEN LAWSON vice president of philanthropy (a post formerly designated as vice president of development), effective in November. For the past five years she has served as vice president of philanthropy at the North Carolina Symphony, based in Raleigh. Prior to entering the orchestra field she worked in development at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden and at Opera Carolina, both in Charlotte, N.C. Lawson is a graduate of Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C.
