The Dallas Symphony Orchestra has appointed CHRISTY CRYTZER PIERCE director of communications; she had previously served as the DSO’s senior manager of foundation and government giving. From 2005 to 2008 she worked at the Nashville Symphony as director of media relations and subsequently as senior director of communications. Previous posts include public relations and community affairs manager, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (2004-05) and administrative specialist in the Office of Communications, National Endowment for the Arts (2002-04). She holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a double major in violin performance and Germanic studies, and a master’s in arts management from American University in Washington, D.C.
