The Detroit Symphony Orchestra has announced the appointment of REIMER PRIESTER as senior director of patron and institutional advancement. He goes to Detroit from the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, where he had served as director of development since August 2009. Prior to that Priester was development director of the Greenville (S.C.) Symphony Orchestra, and during his time with that orchestra he participated in the League of American Orchestras’ Executive Leadership Program 2 for Development and Marketing Professionals. A native of Greenville, he had earlier served as an intern in the Young American Artist Program at Glimmerglass Opera in Cooperstown, N.Y. Priester is a 2003 graduate of Duke University, where he majored in public policy studies with a focus on arts management and minored in French.
