The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra has announced that Chief Executive Officer JAMES WILLIAM BOYD will step down on December 31, 2019. MIMI KRUGER, the orchestra’s director of philanthropy, has been named acting CEO while the Board of Trustees conducts a search for a successor. Boyd joined the Louisiana Philharmonic in November 2011 as director of artistic planning and production, assumed the role of interim managing director in July 2012, and was appointed chief executive officer in March 2013. Hallmarks of his time with the organization include the LPO’s return to the newly restored Orpheum Theater in 2015, the orchestra’s debut at Carnegie Hall in 2018, and securing community and national partnerships, such as the selection of the LPO to serve as host of the League of American Orchestras’ 2020 Bruno Walter National Conductor’s Preview, which takes place in April.
