The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra has appointed JONATHAN KALEDIN as vice president of development. Kaledin was most recently president and CEO of Cape Arts and Entertainment in Hyannis, Massachusetts, home of the Cape Symphony and Cape Conservatory. Previous leadership roles include executive vice president/general counsel of Natural Systems Utilities, executive director of the National Water Education/Funding Council, New York regional counsel for the Nature Conservancy, and general counsel of environmental affairs for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. A cellist and musicologist, Kaledin played in the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and the Boston-based Copley String Quartet. He has substituted in the Albany Symphony Orchestra and performed at the Monadnock Chamber Music Festival, Nantucket Chamber Music Festival, and International Music Festival of Nice. Kaledin has given guest lectures at universities and conferences, and his articles have appeared in newspapers including USA Today, The Boston Globe, and The American Prospect. He has served on nonprofit and private-sector boards and is currently a board member of the Lexington Chamber Music Center. Kaledin holds a bachelor of arts in music from Harvard University, and a juris doctor from the New York University School of Law.
