The New York Pops has announced the promotion of ANNE M. SWANSON from general manager to executive director. She first joined the Pops in September 2001 as assistant to Skitch Henderson, the orchestra’s founding music director, and was promoted to general manager in 2008. She has served as director of the Brooklyn Underground Film Festival; as a member of the screening committee for the Hamptons International Film Festival; and as a volunteer member of several community-based committees in the New York area. She holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Minnesota, and received further training at the Perpich Center for Arts Education in Golden Valley, Minn. Also announced by the Pops were the promotions of JOANNE WINOGRAD BROCKINGTON from education and marketing manager to director of marketing and e-strategy, and of NICHOLAI JOAQUIN from office and development coordinator to artistic administrator. Brockington holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Oberlin College. Joaquin is a graduate of New York University, where he pursued a double major in vocal performance and anthropology. STACY BAUERLEIN, a master’s degree candidate in Performing Arts Administration at New York University, has been named development associate at the Pops.
