The Queensland Symphony Orchestra, based in North Brisbane, Australia, has appointed DAVID PRATT chief executive, effective in September 2016. He is currently executive director of California’s Santa Barbara Symphony, and prior to assuming that post in December 2014 he spent five years as executive director of the Savannah (Ga.) Philharmonic. In his native Australia, Pratt served as commercial enterprises manager for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, general manager of the Australian Festival of Chamber Music, and general manager of the State of Victoria’s Melbourne Film Office. From 1997 to 2006 he worked in the film and entertainment industry in Los Angeles. Pratt holds a bachelor of arts degree, a graduate diploma in business administration, and a certificate in public relations.
