The Virginia Symphony, headquartered in Norfolk, Va., has announced that appointment of KAREN PHILION as president and chief executive officer; she had been serving as interim president since September 2014. Philion joined the VSO staff in 2011 as vice president of development, and before that held senior management positions with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, and the Alaska Public Radio Network.
