The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra will perform an online streamed series of concerts at Kerrytown Concert House in Ann Arbor, Michigan beginning on September 26, following the suspension of the orchestra’s September 10, 11, October 17, and November 14 in-person concerts due to the pandemic. In addition to selling tickets to the streamed concerts, the orchestra is creating DVDs for sale to those without internet access. Concerts on September 26 and 27 will feature pianist Stewart Goodyear and Concertmaster Aaron Berofsky and members of the Berofsky family in separate all-Beethoven programs; programs on October 17 and November 14 will feature the Brahms Clarinet Trio, Brahms Horn Trio, Carlos Simon’s The Warmth of Other Suns, Haydn’s “Emperor” Quartet, and Borodin’s String Quartet No. 2. In addition, the orchestra and Kerrytown Concert House will record the chamber concerts and collaborate on new virtual music education programs that will be disseminated to students in the region and aid educators in their remote learning curriculums. The orchestra’s seven music director finalists will make interactive virtual appearances throughout the 2020-21 season; the search has been extended into the 2021-22 concert season.
