Three musicians have been selected by the Chicago Sinfonietta as Project Inclusion orchestral fellows for the 2015-16 season: RITA ANDRADE, viola; TITILAYO AYANGADE, cello; and KYLE DICKSON, violin. They will begin performing with the Sinfonietta in September.
Rita Andrade recently served as assistant principal violist in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and is currently pursuing a master’s in viola performance at Chicago’s DePaul University. She received her high-school education at Idyllwild Arts Academy in California, and holds a bachelor’s degree from the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas.
Titilayo Ayangade is pursuing a master’s degree in cello performance at Chicago College of the Performing Arts, and was a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago during the 2014-15 season. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where her Thalia String Quartet was a two-time first-place winner in the CCM Chamber Music Competition
Kyle Dickson studied at Winans Academy of Performing Arts in his native of Detroit and holds a bachelor’s degree in violin performance from Michigan State University. He served as concertmaster of the MSU Concert Orchestra and assistant concertmaster of the MSU Symphony Orchestra. Dickson is founder/artistic director of Detroit Festival Camerata, and has performed with Michigan’s Lansing, Rochester, and Dearborn symphony orchestras, among others.
The Chicago Sinfonietta has also announced that two former Project Inclusion orchestral fellows have been awarded principal posts in the orchestra effective next fall. SANDRA BAILEY, who recently completed her second season with the program, has been named principal bassoonist. MARLEA SIMPSON, after one season as an orchestral fellow, has been selected as principal violist.
