The Cleveland Orchestra has announced the appointment of YANN GHIRO to its clarinet section. He goes to Cleveland from the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, where he has performed and recorded regularly as a soloist since 1998. Ghiro has also taught at the Royal Conservatory of Scotland and appeared with numerous European ensembles, including the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, London’s Philharmonia Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, and Ensemble Intercontemporain. A native of Nice, France, he studied at the Paris Conservatoire, Prague Mozart Academy, and the Juilliard School.
