Texas’s Corpus Christi Symphony has appointed HECTOR GUZMAN music director and conductor. He is founding music director of the Plano Symphony Orchestra, in its 35th year, and conducts the Irving and San Angelo Symphony Orchestras, all in Texas. From 2004 to 2010, he was music director of the Jalisco Philharmonic in Mexico. Guzman holds degrees from the Conservatory of Music in Mexico City, the University of North Texas, and Southern Methodist University. Guzman will lead his first concert as Corpus Christi’s music director on September 30, 2017 at the Texas A&M Corpus Christi Performing Arts Center.
