Chicago’s Grant Park Music Festival has announced several additions to its musician roster including violinists MIRAN KIM and MELISSA CHUNG HAMLEN. Kim, named to the first violin section, is a graduate of The Juilliard School’s Pre-College Division, holds a bachelor’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and is pursuing a master’s at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music. She will join the Houston Symphony this fall. Hamlen was a seasonal substitute at Grant Park in 2012 and returns this year as a member of the second violin section. A member of the Grand Rapids (Mich.) Symphony, Hamlen received her training at the Eastman School of Music and Cleveland Institute of Music.
