Seven additions to the musician roster have been announced by the New West Symphony in Thousand Oaks, California.

MARISA SARAJJA, associate concertmaster, also serves as principal first violinist in the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and associate concertmaster of the Santa Barbara Symphony. She has performed with orchestras and festivals throughout the U.S. as well as in the recording and television industries.

LAUREN CHIPMAN, principal viola, performs and records frequently with popular artists and has appeared on such television shows as the Grammys, American Music Awards, American Idol, and Dancing with the Stars.

LARA WICKES, principal oboe, has held that post on an interim basis since 2009 and is also principal oboe in the Santa Barbara Symphony. Her performances on oboe and English horn can be heard in numerous motion picture soundtracks.

JOSHUA RANZ, principal clarinet, also holds that title with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. He is a member of the Pacific Symphony, performs regularly with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, has served as guest principal with LA Opera and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and is active in the television and motion picture industries.

RAN KAMPEL, second clarinet, also performs in the Rochester (N.Y.) Philharmonic Orchestra and in California’s Symphony Napa Valley. He has been active with the Thornton Outreach Program at the University of Southern California and has served as a teaching artist in high-risk, low-income public schools in downtown Los Angeles.

DUNCAN MASSEY, principal bassoon, is also principal bassoon in California’s Riverside County Philharmonic and Santa Barbara Grand Opera, as well as a member of the Long Beach Opera Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay. Massey has performed with the Minnesota Orchestra, the Houston Ballet Orchestra, and numerous organizations in the Los Angeles area.

P. BLAKE COOPER, principal tuba, has an active freelance career in the Los Angeles area and has performed and recorded with the USC Scholarship Brass and USC Bass Tuba Quartet. He is a teaching artist for the Los Angeles Philharmonic and its Youth Orchestra LA (YOLA).
