JEFFREY FAIR has been named to the Charles Simonyi Principal Horn chair at the Seattle Symphony. He had served previously as assistant principal horn, a post to which he was appointed in 2003. Fair is professor of horn at the University of Washington, has performed regularly at the Seattle Chamber Music Festival, and has played Wagner tuba for Seattle Opera productions of Der Ring des Nibelungen. Before moving to Seattle, he spent three seasons as principal horn in the San Antonio Symphony, and has also served as principal horn at Eastern Music Festival and Arizona Music Festival. Fair is a native of Oklahoma and a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Oklahoma, where he received a Bachelor of Music degree.
