Ohio’s Toledo Symphony has appointed SARA JOBIN resident conductor for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons. She had previously filled that role on an interim basis, and is also associate conductor of the Toledo Opera, a post she will retain. Jobin has served as chief conductor of the Center for Contemporary Opera in New York, and as guest conductor at such organizations as Symphony Silicon Valley, the Dayton Philharmonic, the Bochumer Symphoniker in Germany, New York’s Little Orchestra Society and Orchestra of St. Luke’s, and the opera companies of San Francisco, Idaho, Pittsburgh, Arizona, Santa Barbara, and Anchorage. She attended Harvard College, where she was a Leonard Bernstein Music Scholar, and studied conducting with Charles Bruck at the Pierre Monteux School in Maine.
