“The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra has announced the launch of TSO Community, a digital-based initiative that will provide easily accessible and flexible content to community aged care facilities,” writes Michael Kaufmann in Tuesday’s (7/7) Limelight (Australia). “The program is being launched with Uniting AgeWell, an aged care service based across Tasmania and Victoria, providing both residential and in-home care services, as well as retirement living facilities…. The service offers … streaming across up to ten devices and flexible times for viewing concerts, allowing residents to access the content privately or for communal viewings. It offers livestreamed recordings of concerts, as well as exclusive video content produced for the service, including Concert 101, in-depth pre-concert presentations introducing the orchestra members and music being performed…. TSO Community is a continuation of the orchestra’s efforts to deliver online digital content. Over 2020, TSO presented concerts through Melbourne Digital Concert Hall, as well as delivering livestreamed performances independently through TSO Online, on its website.” Tasmanian Symphony CEO Carline Sharpen said, “We are so pleased now to have a way to be present and of service to Tasmanian elders and residents in community care.
