The Boston Symphony Orchestra will begin streaming its February 16 “Concert for Our City” program at Symphony Hall on its YouTube page on April 5 at 3 p.m. ET. The concert was conducted by Thomas Wilkins, the BSO’s artistic advisor for education and community engagement, and the free stream will be available for 45 days. The concert was one of the BSO’s free musical events in Boston in February, after its East Asia tour was cancelled during the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic. The concert includes works by Tchaikovsky, Huang Ruo, Alberto Ginastera, George Walker, Brahms, and Dvořák. “Concert for Our City” is part of the BSO’s recently launched BSO at Home series of online video and audio offerings during the performance/event hiatus through May 2. BSO at Home includes self-produced videos from BSO musicians and conductors at home during the pandemic, to be released periodically through the BSO’s social media channels as well as daily curated archival audio recordings.
