The Cape Symphony, based in Hyannis, Massachusetts, is offering free tickets for every concert in its 2017-18 season to anyone holding a valid Massachusetts EBT Card, subject to availability. The recently announced EBT Card to Culture program, a collaboration between the Mass Cultural Council and the Executive Office of Health and Human Services’ Department of Transitional Assistance, is an effort to open doors to arts and cultural experiences for low-income families. The Cape Symphony is one of more than 100 other nonprofit arts, history, and science organizations in the state that are providing free or discounted admission to low-income families through the program. Said Cape Symphony Chief Operating Officer Linda Mawhinney, “We’ve always believed that the arts are a vital element to a well-rounded, enriched life, and this program falls right into that belief, supporting our mission of inspiring joy through the arts. We’re happy to extend this opportunity to individuals and families that may otherwise not be able to experience a Cape Symphony performance.”
