A report in Thursday’s (10/15) Edmonds Beacon (Washington) states, “Cascade Symphony is pleased to announce the selection of Kevin Fay as its new principal clarinet player. Mr. Fay will make his debut with the orchestra on November 2 in the well-known clarinet opening of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Kimberly Russ will be featured as piano soloist. In this first concert of its 48th season, CSO will also present The Planets, featuring the suite by that name by Gustav Holst, as well as the Rakoczy March by Berlioz. The concert will be held at 7:30 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. In addition to his new position with Cascade Symphony, Kevin Fay has been the principal clarinetist of the Northwest Symphony Orchestra and the Washington Wind Symphony since the early 1990’s. Kevin has performed actively with many theaters and musical groups throughout the Seattle area. Kevin earned two undergraduate degrees from the University of Washington, and law degrees from State University of New York at Buffalo and Harvard Law School. He practices law in-house at PACCAR in Bellevue.”
