DANIEL KHALIKOV has been named concertmaster of the Chamber Orchestra of New York. He succeeds Kelly Hall-Tompkins, the orchestra’s concertmaster since its first concert in 2007. Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Khalikov is part of the third generation of a family of classical musicians. Khalikov is a founding member of Chamber Orchestra of New York, with which he has performed as visiting concertmaster for Carnegie Hall concerts and events at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. With the Chamber Orchestra, he has also been featured as a soloist in violin concertos by Vivaldi and J.S. Bach. In 2008, he became a member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, with which he has performed at Lincoln Center and on tour. As a chamber musician, Khalikov has performed with Pinchas Zukerman, Yefim Bronfman, and Emanuel Ax, and at the music festivals of Santa Fe, Tanglewood, Verbier, Norfolk, Music Mountain, the Perlman Music Program, the MET Chamber Players, and Lake Tahoe Summerfest. Salvatore Di Vittorio is the Chamber Orchestra of New York’s founder and music director.
