The nonprofit organization EmcArts, which encourages innovation in the arts and culture field through re-grants and a variety of support programs, has announced the names of 38 organizations to participate in its New Pathways for the Arts program in metropolitan Chicago and Cincinnati. The central focus of New Pathways is six hands-on workshops that take place over twelve to fifteen months, focusing on innovation and adaptive change; in addition to workshops there will also be informal convenings and onsite coaching visits. Among the 38 organizations selected to participate in New Pathways are the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati May Festival, Cincinnati Opera, and Kentucky Symphony Orchestra.
