“Colorado Springs’ classical public radio station, 88.7 KCME-FM, will provide seven area schools with works of classical composers through its new Bach to School program,” writes Debbie Kelley in Thursday’s (1/2) Colorado Springs Gazette. “Introduced during the 2013 fall membership drive, the program enabled KCME supporters at certain contributor levels to donate a set of the complete works of Mozart, Bach, Beethoven or Haydn to schools. The inaugural recipients are: Bricker Elementary School, Jenkins Middle School, Harrison High School and Mountain View Community School in Colorado Springs; Columbine Elementary School in Woodland Park; Dillon Valley Elementary School in Dillon; and Lewis-Palmer Middle School in Monument. The schools will start receiving the classical composer collections [of recordings] on Jan. 15. Other schools within the KCME broadcast area that are interested in the program can sign up by calling the studio at 800-492-5263.”
