The American Composers Orchestra (ACO) has announced the composers selected for the 2023/2024 EarShot Readings, a national composer development program that builds relationships between composers and orchestras nationwide, promoting diverse talent and cultivating the careers of composers. EarShot is organized in partnership with the American Composers Forum, New Music USA, and the League of American Orchestras. ACO will hold composer readings in five cities this season. In March, EarShot Readings will be held at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, with composers Pablo M. Teutli, Edward Babcock, Daniel Cui, and Hansol Choi. In April, the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra will give EarShot readings with composers Sepehr Pirasteh, Daixuan Ai, Osnat Netzer, and Chris Neiner. In June, EarShot Readings will be held in conjunction with the League of American Orchestras’ National Conference and ROCO in Houston, TX, with composers Autumn Maria Reed, Naama Perel-Tzadok, Patricia Leonard, and Stella G. Gitelman Willoughby. ACO’s EarShot Readings will take place in New York City later in June, with composers Malachi Brown, Samuel Torres, Sofía Scheps, Anuj Bhutani, Madeline Merwin, and Eun-sung Kim.
