For the first time in many years, the Dayton Ballet’s annual holiday “Nutcracker” will feature Tchaikovsky’s score performed live by the Dayton Philharmonic. The “Nutcracker” run of performances at the Schuster Center in Dayton, Ohio from December 14 to 23 will feature choreography by Dayton Ballet Artistic Director Karen Russo Burke and her husband, former Artistic Director Dermot Burke. Neal Gittleman, DPO’s conductor and artistic director, will lead the orchestra. The Dayton Ballet, Dayton Opera, and the Dayton Philharmonic are constituent groups of the newly formed umbrella organization Dayton Performance Arts Alliance, announced in the Spring 2012 issue of Symphony .
