On October 30, the Florida Orchestra will perform the its first Happy Hour Concert of the season at Armature Works, a historic, restored mixed-use building in Tampa. Principal Guest Conductor Stuart Malina will lead the “Eat, Drink & Be Scary” program, which will include Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, Saint-Saëns’s Danse Macabre, and other Halloween-themed music. The orchestra’s Happy Hour Concert series launched last season; all concerts are free and take place at 6:30 p.m. at Armature Works’ The Gathering event space, with food and beverages available for purchase and post-concert meet-and-greets with TFO musicians. Additional concerts in the series will take place on January 8 and May 13, 2020; the first will feature music from Latin America led by Stuart Malina, the second will include music by Russian composers, conducted by Daniel Black.
