Colorado’s Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert on June 11 featuring the Grand Junction Rockestra, a new rock-and-roll ensemble formed by members of the orchestra. The concert at the Robinson Theatre in Grand Junction will feature the Rockestra’s rhythm section (guitar, bass, piano, drums) performing with orchestra musicians in rock music from the 1970s and ’80s, including Bon Jovi, Boston, Pat Benatar, Blondie, Whitesnake, Survivor, and Journey. Also to be featured at the June 11 concert are local singers chosen from auditions that took place over the past several months.  The 7:30 p.m. concert will be preceded by a 2 p.m. motorcycle ride at the Grand Junction Harley Davidson dealership and a 5:30 p.m. barbecue on the Mesa State College Quad.
