Sunday’s (3/28) Green Bay Press-Gazette (Wisconsin) reports, “The Green Bay Symphony Orchestra’s international search for a new music director has reached its final stages. The finalists and plans for the 2010-2011 season will be announced at the orchestra’s April 10 concert at the Weidner Center. Out of nearly 200 applications, the orchestra’s search committee chose four finalists who will conduct concerts next season as part of the competitive application process. … The committee is comprised of board members, musicians and community members. Over the past year, the group met to review candidates’ supporting materials, watch DVDs of applicants in performance, check references and conduct Skype video and telephone interviews to narrow the field. Each finalist will make a week-long visit to Green Bay during the 2010-2011 season for a series of further interviews, community appearances and an opportunity to conduct the orchestra. … Previous music director and conductor Bridget-Michael Reischl left following the 2008-2009 season.”
