An article Tuesday (5/29) on the Hartford Business Journal online (Connecticut) states, “Long-time volunteer Carrie Hammond is the new president and CEO of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, dropping her year-old interim tag, effective Tuesday. Hammond had led the cultural-arts organization since Andrea Stalf left last May to resume her corporate marketing-advertising career. Hammond is a former Travelers and United Technologies Corp. executive, who has volunteered on growth and development initiatives for the HSO since 1987 when she first moved to Hartford. Hammond has an MBA from Harvard, and a B.A. from Wellesley College with majors in economics and music. The HSO also restructured its development team, adding April M. Paterno as director of development and institutional giving; and Tracy Wu Fastenberg, director of individual giving.”
