Tuesday (10/4) on the Harford Courant online (Connecticut), Eric R. Danton writes, “Andrew McMahon really only intended to make one album as Jack’s Mannequin, he says, shortly before the band released its third effort this week. ‘People and Things,’ the group’s latest, is the last installment of what McMahon says is a trilogy of albums, from which Jack’s Mannequin will perform selections tonight in Hartford with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. … Though ‘People and Things’ feels in many ways like a conclusion, McMahon says he’s not sure what’s next for Jack’s Mannequin, beyond the current tour. Even this outing, though, has an experimental edge: the band has teamed with the Hartford Symphony to present, for the first time, orchestral versions of Jack’s Mannequin songs. ‘It’s been something I was always excited about, but frankly a little terrified to do,’ he says. ‘Finally, about six months ago, the conversation came back around and I said, “You know what, let’s face the fear, let’s just try it.”  Longtime Jack’s Mannequin collaborator Patrick Warren worked with representatives of the orchestra to create arrangements for the band’s music, which the group will perform with the symphony.”
