The Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra will open its 2021-22 season with two free outdoor pops concerts. The first will take place on October 21 at Martin Family Park in Bluffton, South Carolina, as a part of the Historic Bluffton Arts and Seafood Festival. The second concert, on October 22, will take place at Lowcountry Celebration Park at Coligny in Hilton Head Island. Music Director John Morris Russell and the HHSO will be joined by vocalist Erica Gabriel, 2018 Gold Medal Winner of the American Traditions Vocal Competition, for a program of film and popular music. The orchestra’s main-season performances begin on October 24 at First Presbyterian Church in Hilton Head Island with Russell leading Sibelius’s Violin Concerto with soloist Will Hagen and Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No. 3 and Symphony No. 1.
