On April 10 at Boomtown Brewery in downtown Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra will perform three world premieres, led by guest conductor Vincent Womack. Composer Derrick Skye, LACO’s artistic advisor, curated the “CURRENT: Equilibrium” program of electro-acoustic classical music; the immersive concert will feature projection design by Hsuan-Kuang Hsieh and experience design by Boss Witch Productions. The world premieres are James Waterman’s Lift to Return, Derrick Skye’s Pulse Equilibria, and Conor Brown’s Community Resolve (world premiere of revised version). Also on the program will be Dai Wei’s Partial Men, dedicated to deceased organ donors who extend others’ lives; Ann Southam’s Re-Tuning; Nathalie Joachim’s Life Lines for flutes and electronics; and Derrick Skye’s Harp Hymnal.
