“The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra announced Wednesday that Kroger is the new title sponsor for the Symphony on the Prairie concert series,” writes James Gray on Wednesday (5/24) at Indiana Public Media (Bloomington). “The annual summertime concert series features performances from the ISO and other musical acts at the Conner Prairie Amphitheater. In previous years, Marsh Supermarkets acted as the title sponsor. The grocery store chain filed for bankruptcy earlier this month.… Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra CEO Gary Ginstling says more than 120,000 people count on the ISO for the summer concert series each year. ‘I want to extend my sincere thanks to Kroger, to everyone at Kroger, for stepping up on short notice to join us and to ensure the future of this central Indiana tradition,’ Ginstling says. The Kroger Symphony on the Prairie concert series will begin June 16. This year’s concert series includes performances by The Beach Boys and a Prince tribute band.”
