“It’s a balancing act for the arts right now. Many organizations continue working toward providing live performances while keeping audience health and safety a top priority,” writes Dustin Luecke on Wednesday (7/22) at WXOW TV (La Crosse, WI). “To that end, the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra presents a modified 2020-21 season. Starting in the fall, the LSO will offer a series of three chamber concerts. Only 15 musicians will play on the large Viterbo Fine Arts Center stage, and admission will be limited to 220 people in the 1,100-capacity theater. Masks will be required but can be removed when in the socially distanced seating. They will not offer any concessions, pre-show or post-show activities. Three regularly scheduled performances comprise the spring 2021 season. LSO Executive Director Eva Marie Restel remains cautiously optimistic the orchestra will be able to offer its usual events early next year…. Restel said the LSO would also like to thank the generous donors who supported the Musician Relief Fund. More than $5,000 went to the orchestra’s professional musicians who could not perform during the lockdown.”
