“Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra is implementing COVID-19 safety protocols that will require all audience members 12 and over to be fully vaccinated or have proof of a negative test taken within the previous 72 hours if the Lancaster County risk dial is orange,” writes Steffani Note in Monday’s (9/20) KLKN-TV (Lincoln, Nebraska). “Currently the Lancaster County COVID-19 risk dial is mid-orange. Every musician onstage … will be fully vaccinated, as will the entire administrative team. Staff members will wear masks at all times while assisting audience members in the concert hall. In addition, LSO will be implementing an ‘Enhanced Safety Seating Zone’ in order to accommodate patrons who have concerns about their personal risk level…. ‘Throughout the past 18 months, our musicians have overwhelmingly demonstrated their commitment to their art form, to this orchestra, and to this community,’ Barbara Zach Lee, LSO Executive Director, said. ‘They have participated in conversations about the innovations we undertook during the pandemic, and they were a vital part of the conversations about what safety precautions to implement going forward.’ ” Included is an explanation of the Lancaster County COVID-19 Risk Dial, updated on the Tuesday preceding the week of each concert or event.
